Colorado’s fall colors are having a bit of a rough year.
The drought continues and the aspens are stressed, many instead of turning gold are simply going straight to dead brown. There were significant groves of gorgeous aspen along the trail out of East Inlet on the western side of the Park, but so many trees already brown. The lack of water this summer, and more specifically the lack of snow last winter, is obvious in the level of flow through the falls. Walking along the creeks, and crossing the smaller tributaries that are fully dry, I can’t help but dream and hope for a winter filled with heavy snow!
